Weekly Weigh-in and update

Pounds Lost: FOUR!!!!! (HOORAY, one pound away from my 25 lb prize)

Inches on my waist and % Body Fat- - i've decided to only check these measurements once a month....

100% Food Tracking- I'm a big slacker on this this week. I was at 100%, this week I am probably only at like 20% to be honest. I have no idea how I was able to lose without tracking only to say that I did calculate each meal before i ate, so i did have a rough idea of where I was. I don't want this to set a bad precedent though. I am recommitting to 100% food tracking.

January Daily Challenge- EPIC FAIL!!!! I haven't even done it ONE TIME! so this challenge will be repeated in february and this time i actually need to do it! I am going to make a real effort to start doing it now through the end of the month and then maybe increase the amount  each week in February.

January Monthly Adventure- Cross Country Skiing is a no go this month as i can't find a place to ski that rents equipment. Maybe if we get another good snow, i'll go up to Ft. Wayne, there is a place up there.  Ice Skating, hasn't happened yet, but I am going this weekend.

That's all I got for now!

Quick Weekly Weigh In and Update

Lost 1 pound.... Hopefully i'll be off this roller coaster i have been on for the last two months.

I also measured my waist a couple days ago, I lost ONE WHOLE INCH off my waist since the last time a checked, about a month ago! YAY!

I have been utterly failing on my daily stairs challenge, i'll have to do it again next month if i don't get better about it.  I have missed the last two zumba days, but i am going to turbo kick tonight and of course will be going to the class from you know where on saturday. So I am staying pretty on track.

Food tracking is up and down, i'll be great a couple days and then bad a couple days. Going to spend sometime catching up on that tonight I think. Other than that.. I am chugging slowly along.

I think the biggest lesson for me over the past month has been, the number on the scale is not the ONLY measure of success. I am so happy that my % of body fat is dropping and my waist measurement. those are victories too...

Lesson Learned

Exercising is going so well. But I have to start being smarter about what I eat before I work out... .the lesson of the day....

burritos and turbo kickboxing DO NOT MIX!

It was AWFUL!!! I was a mess. I thought I was going to BARF! I couldn't do very much of the jumping or anything.  It was bad news.

I did some googling and found a really helpful article on the subject: http://www.livestrong.com/article/212783-is-it-better-to-exercise-aerobically-on-a-full-or-empty-stomach/

I like it because it has different recommendations depending on how much time you have before your workout. I'll definitely be taking the advice in this article.

In other news, I can't find a place to do cross country skiing in Indianapolis where I can rent the ski gear. I know of a place in Ft. Wayne, so I could go there, but I am not sure when.....

Weekly Weigh in

Pounds Lost- 0
BUT.... I lost 1 % of body fat....

I am not sure what is up with this. Knitia and I waxed philosophical about this for like 20 minutes yesterday. Overall, I am pleased with last week. I burnt over 2500 calories in my various workouts.  I also achieved nearly 100% food tracking... id say I was about at 98% and I didn't go over my calories. I have no explanation for this weeks lack of weight loss. But the only thing to do is push on. I am starting to get discouraged, I was hoping to have hit 25 pounds by now. but I am doing everything I can do.

I did not go to Zumba yesterday as we had some weather. but i have a Wii game called "My Fitness Coach" and I did that. I need to pump up the difficulty level though. I definitely didn't get the calorie burn that I get from Zumba of Total Body Conditioning.

So the vote is in and the monthly challenge is stairs 5 extra times a day. Tomorrow cloud dancing's heartsong and I are going to the gym, we maybe going to this Turbo Kick class that we went to last week. I like it a lot. I really think if you have a lot of weight to lose I really recommend a group fitness class. You stay motivated, accountable and they work you way harder than you would work yourself.

Also, I have not forgotton my adventures. We have some snow so I am going to look into cross country skiing ASAP.

Hopefully next week has some more measurable progress.

Weekly Weigh In

Pounds Lost: ONE

Still need to lose the other pound I gained to get back to where I was.

I think this week will be much better. I have been doing really well with my food tracking and have already done Zumba and a Turbo Kick class this week.

I am really looking forward to this weeks weigh in.

PLEASE VOTE FOR MY MONTHLY CHALLENGE THIS MONTH! I am already behind!

Food Tracking and Goals for the Future!

So food tracking is still not up to par. I know that food tracking and calorie watching are ABSOLUTELY key to this weight loss thing. The latest addition of the joy fit club was an AVID calorie counter and lost 122 pounds. . but i still can't seem to remember to do it consistently. I have set a timer on my phone to remind me. We will see how that goes....

I realized i never wrapped up my December Push-up Challenge. I made it to 23 push-ups.  When the holidays came around it kind of fell a part. I am going to keep push-ups as part of my regular exercise routine. 23 is MUCH better than the 3 i started out with.

I need to choose a challenge for this month, I was thinking about sit-ups, but I think i'd like to save that one for a while. I just can't handle the idea of doing a bunch of sit-ups every night. So i have to come up with something better. I am playing with the idea of stretches. My adventures for the month are 1 ice-skating adventure and assuming we get some decent snow, 1 attempt at cross country skiing.

Today, I set a long term goal. It might seem far-fetched, especially since I am horrible right now. But when I hit my goal weight I am going to become a certified Zumba Instructor. I am not sure if I'll actually ever find a part time job to teach it, but i want the certification anyway and I am sure I could find something. I have noticed that a LOT of the joy fit club people either do marathons/triathlons or become fitness trainers of some sort.  I am sure these accomplishments help them maintain their weight.

So tomorrow is weigh in. I don't know how i'll do... but we shall see.
